In the last days of the year, our 4th graders are deeply involved in a BreakoutEDU mystery game about the American Revolution. They must figure out how to use their knowledge of American history and a variety of clues to find the combinations to five different locks. If & when they succeed, they can open the locked box and use the enclosed quill pen to sign the Declaration of Independence! Excitement builds as groups hear each other celebrate as they figure out the number, word, color, and directional lock combinations. As in life, the key to success is a combination of creative thinking, good listening skills, collaboration, background knowledge, and perseverance!
